Short Circuit Current Studies
Short circuit studies are done to
determine the magnitude of currents flowing throughout the power system at various time intervals
after a “fault” occurs.
The study is based upon
utility positive and zero sequence source impedance information supplied by the utility.
A short circuit study is done to:
- calculate the fault current at various locations in the plant.
- identify whether the system and the equipments could withstand the available fault current.
- specify the ratings of the equipments for future expansions.
- improve the reliability of the system.

the reliability and safety of your facility. |
